We are happy to announce that our London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes has a new website! Both the websites of St. Michael’s and St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica will no longer be active. As a Family this new website celebrates our unity. We would like to thank Vianca Kmet for her hard work in creating this website from scratch! Members of the Transition Team has created a prayer for our Family of Parishes. As we move closer to our date of activation, we invite you to pray this prayer as individuals, families, and parish groups.

Prayer for the London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes

Holy God, as we the community of the
London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes
gather in your name, help us to be people of vision.
Holy Spirit, increase your gifts in us, to help us move boldly
into our Family of Parishes with confidence.

Three communities strengthening one another through shared
prayer and gifts.

Though we may at times have differing views,
grant us the grace to hear one another with respect,
a spirit of charity and fullness of hope.
Give us the gifts of wisdom and understanding,
so that all of our efforts arise out of the desire to do your will
and to serve your people.

Led by compassion and truth may we ultimately
be guided by one goal, together with one voice.
Give us the grace to draw our hearts to one another
and respond to the gift of your spirit.

Uniting as a mission-oriented church that forms disciples of Jesus,
we ask you to grant that our Family of Parishes,
praying with Mary the mother of Jesus and guided by
St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Michael and St. Peter may
increase the reign of the Divine Saviour

We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

The latest update from our Transition Team can be found here.

One of the major tasks as we move into the Family of Parishes is to build a new website for the London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes. This will take some dedicated time and attention from Vianca Kmet who maintains our current website. In order to make this happen, we have hired Jenn Reiniger as the Secretary Receptionist for a period of 4-6 weeks. Jenn worked at the Springbank Family of Parishes and has a good grasp of the secretary receptionist role.  Welcome aboard, Jenn!

The Transition Team for the Family of Parishes of St. Josephine Bakhita African Caribbean Catholic Community, St. Michaels’ Parish, and St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica has been meeting regularly over the last couple of months. Three ad hoc committees have been formed to look at Communications, setting new Mass times for the family,

and personnel.

One of the first tasks of the Transition Team was to come up with a name for the family based on the Diocesan protocols for naming the Family. The name is to designate the family as a whole-not to include the names of each parish or community but representing the geographical region where the family is located. Each parish and community retains its canonical name. The recommended name was submitted to the Bishop and has now been approved.

The Transition Team is happy to announce our name:

London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes

Please continue to pray for the Transition Team as we discern the future of London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes.
